NPL Founded
NPL was founded in Gonvick, Minnesota as Northern Gas Line Constructors. Nearly fifty years later we’re still serving our very first customer.

Northern Pipeline
The company changes its name to Northern Pipeline Construction Co. and moves its headquarters to Bemidji, Minnesota.

Minneapolis Move
NPL makes its next move to Minneapolis – St. Paul reflecting its regional growth.

Phoenix Move
With a focus on national growth, NPL relocates its corporate headquarters to Phoenix, Arizona.

Southwest Gas
NPL becomes a wholly-owned subsidiary of Southwest Gas Corporation, a publicly traded company.

Ontario, California
NPL brings its experience to the large California market, opening its first office in Ontario.

Traffic Control
NPL broadens its scope of offerings by establishing NBC to better serve traffic control requirements at numerous projects across the nation.

Expansion of Services
NPL sees an opportunity to acquire key assets from an Arizona-based pipeline company to serve the southwestern residential homebuilding market, providing wet and dry utility installations and specializing in heavy duty rock trenching.

Strategic Growth
A landmark year in the history of the company, NPL acquires Canadian gas utility construction leader, the Link-Line Group of Companies.

A Brand New Era for NPL
NPL launches a new brand identity reflecting nearly 50 years of thinking ahead, emphasizing an exceptional record of safety and quality, and our long-established reputation for leadership, expertise and innovation.
