In 2021, Centuri executive leadership team formalized Centuri’s commitment to creating a framework for cultivating diversity, equity, and inclusion as fundamental values throughout the workplace environment. This journey started with listening to our employees and putting an organizational structure in place through the establishment of a DEI Council.
Since its establishment, our DEI Council has overseen the creation of six employee resources groups (ERGs) aimed at providing a platform for the diverse communities within our workforce, while advancing a diverse, equitable, and inclusive company culture. These employee-led groups are comprised of volunteers and open all Centuri companies. Each group has an executive sponsor and one or more chairperson who report to the DEI Council. Any employee, regardless of role or location, can engage with our ERGs using our communications tool ONE Connect.
In addition to supporting employees, our ERGs also emphasize philanthropy and community engagement. Our WELD (Women Engaged in Leadership Development) ERG, for example, volunteered at a Habitat for Humanity Central Arizona home building event. Our CommUNITY ERG joined NPL’s Partner Alliance, a unique group of NPL’s suppliers focused on promoting supplier diversity, to support United Way and benefit needy senior citizens in the Chicagoland area.
